The Bakossi Women Cultural and Development Association, SUMEDIANG will be holding their 2026 Annual General Assembly in DOUALA March 13-14, 2026.
Hosted by the Douala branch, the cultural event taking place at the Douala iv Council hall Bonaberi, will bring together all SUMEDIANG branches across the nation and beyond.
The Douala AGM followed that of Kumba in 2024 where the association assessed its achievements and mapped the way forward.
SUMEDIANG National President Dr Rose Enang pointed out that an association of all Bakossi women SUMEDIANG stands tall as the mother of the Bakossi women and has the challenge drive the development aspiration of KupeMuanenguba.

According to the President of the DOUALA Branch, Dr Balbina Mesame Mesue, epse Ebong, ā This yearās SUMEDIANG AGM promises to be more fruitful and eventful.ā
It will be two days of exchange of ideas on how to better build the Bakossi woman in sisterhood, a cultural jamboree and a fund raising gala night.
ā We will be raising funds to build a stronger womenās community, complete the SUMEDIANG Women empowerment Center, improve the life of the Bakossi rural women and the education of the girl child in KupeMuanenguba division.
Activities will be capped with a fund raising gala night to help complete the women empowerment centre in Tombel and the launch of a subsequent project in Bangem, she says.
ā This is more than an event and the count down has begun.Ā Douala promise to make this event unforgettable and we are inviting all Bakossi women to be part of this wonderful associationā Dr Balbina says.
Attendance is all the branches both urban and rural, including Yaounde, Buea, Bafoussam, Kumba, Muyuka, Tombel, Bangem, Ngusi, Nyandong, Eboko Bajoh etc
āDouala is ready to host, has acquired the prestigious Douala 4 Council Hall in Bonassama (very centrally places and accessible to everyone) obtained the necessary permission for public activities, arranged for meals and even arranged for accommodation for members who may notĀ be able to put up on their own,ā she added.
SUMEDIANG accordingly is a leading women’s Common Initiative and cultural Group among the Bakossi ethnic entity of Cameroon, driving and addressing the over-arching challenges confronting women in KupeMuanenguba.
