Team captain and mates brandish trophy

Government Secondary School,( GSS) Muebah-Nninong has emerged champion in Southwest regional football FENASCO-A games.
They qualified as champions, April 7, 2026 after defeating Government High School, GHS Mamfe in a highly disputed finals at the Molyko Stadium in Buea that ended in penalty shootout.
According to Madame Manjo Lydia, teacher in GSS Muebah-Nninong, despite the enrollment challenges, the school continue to awe the population with their brilliant activities from sports to academics.
She noted that before the regional finals of April 7th,the divisional finals was played on the 4th of April 2026, bringing in the qualifiers from the sub divisions within Kupe Muanenguba to compete.
“ At the end of the day, it was GSS Muebah-Nninong against Oxford comprehensive high school Tombel for the divisional finals where GSS Muebah-Nninong emerged winners, one goal to zero . This gave them the first position, an opportunity to represent the Division at the Regional level,” she explained.
She noted that apart from football boys the school performed well in other disciplines.
“In individual athletics, students achieved notable wins and are also represented the Division and the school at the regional level. For example, in events such as 100m boys and girls, 400m boys and girls, 1500m boys and other running and field events, students delivered performances that attracted maximum recognition,” she said.
“ The school has continuously shown that when leadership, learners, and community support work together, challenges do not erase progress they only test how strong the progress will become,” she added.
BRILLIANT ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
The school under the leadership of Mr. Enongene Joseph Aloo, continue to record success like; 100% scored in GCE O’level exams 2025 and in the academic Year 2025–2026, it was disclosed.
“Success remain a priority, not as a slogan, but as a daily effort as seen in students activities,” she said.
In the domain of coding and robotics, students showcased practical innovation during the open business day for secondary schools Southwest region, launched in Government higher technical secondary school Bangem under the theme; learning at the edge of artificial intelligence where they amazed the population with their creation and programming of robot prototypes meant to solve common community problems.
Their work according to Madame Manjo Lydia showed creativity, teamwork, and a growing understanding of technology innovation.
The Principal of the school lauded the performance of the students, calling on the not to relent in their efforts.
“ We are encouraging the students not to relent in their efforts and to keep the flag flying,” Mr Enongene Joseph told ECO OUTLOOK.
The same encouragement came from one of the prominent elite from the Nninong community and the promoter of Summa Cum Laude Learning Center, Dr Abwe Diabe Ephraim.
“We are very elated that GSS Mueba-Nninong is flying the flag of the area with their brilliant performance not only in academics but also in sports. This is indicative of the good training they are receiving in school and we are ready to continue supporting their efforts,” Dr Abwe Diabe said.
It should be recalled that the FENASSCO League A Games rolled from April 8-15, 2026. This event authorities say geared at bringing unity and social cohesion among youths in Cameroon and features various collective and individual team sports for competition.
The Secretary General of the FENASSCO league A announced the program for the 26th edition, was to include many innovations to improve the games.
