Suspected supporters of separatist fighter on the run as security search intensifies

Ngaketcha Justice Carême suspected to be a member of SCNC and financing activities of Ambazonia activists in the Northwest region of Cameroon is among several youths in the region on the run for safety. Eco Outlook newspaper gathered that many youths were rounded up in the Nkwen Mile 4, Bamenda neighborhood recently by security operatives for supporting separatist fighters who are fighting with government military.

Many of the Cameroon youths from the crisis region of Northwest and Southwest of Cameroon are increasingly leaving the country for their safety as they have become prime targets by security forces in the wake of the ongoing Anglophone Crisis in  the two regions  of Cameroon.

Government forces have intensified their hunt for leaders and supporters of the Southern Cameroons National Council (SCNC) in the two regions as well as those suspected of supporting the Anglophone separatist cause. This crackdown of mostly youths reflects escalating tensions, with authorities targeting key figures associated with the SCNC or the fight for Ambazonia liberation, a prominent organization within the Anglophone movements advocating for self-determination.

 

Eco OUTLOOK gathered that Ngaketcha Justice Carême,a finance officer working with GOLDAS( Golden Age Soccer) a humanitarian NGO fighting for peace amidst diversity, is suspected of not only being an SCNC member but also running errands for her institution GOLDAS, suspected of funding the seperatist movement.

Ngaketcha Justice Carême is among several youths on the run for fear of security clamp down.

According to information gathered by Eco OUTLOOK, Ngaketcha Justice  is accused by the Cameroon’s security of knowing the hideout of some of the Anglophone separatists.

Her father who was arrested in November,2020 after security raided their residence died two weeks after detention. It’s suspected he died from the effects of his detention.

Sources say security forces came looking for her at their family home in Bantoum-

Bangante but she managed to escape and went into hiding.

Like many other Anglophone youths,it is highly believed she managed to escape out of the country for her safety.
