NYAWIDDA Convention 2025 to Empower the Girl Child, Forster Development in Nyasoso.

The Nyasoso Wives and Daughters Development Association (NYAWIDDA) has scheduled it’s  annual convention December 6, 2025 in Kumba to assess achievements and roll out 2026 plan of action.

The event according to the group President Police Commissioner Alobwede Nzelle Mado, will permit the Nyasoso Women and daughters raise funds that will permit them sponsor underprivileged girls in Nyasoso and surrounding areas, who were forced to drop out of school due to the socio-political crisis in the Southwest and Northwest regions. It will also permit the association contribute their own quota in the development of their community.

The convention in Kumba will assess achievements for 2025 and roll out plan of action for 2026.

The association will also  focus on empowering peasant women with farm tools and constructing a Multipurpose Guest House in Nyasoso, whose foundation was laid on October 1, 2025.

“We are soliciting financial, moral, and material support to complete these projects,” said Enongene Vivian Mesinze, Secretary General of NYAWIDDA.

“We pray for God’s blessings on the efforts of all those who strive to serve humanity by supporting our projects.”

The convention promises to be a moment of camaraderie among Nyasoso wives and daughters, with a deep focus on giving back to the community.

NYAWIDDA has been playing significant role in fostering development of the Nyasoso community.

 Their contribution towards the resumption of classes in GHS Nyasoso after over four years of inactivity following the Anglophone crisis cannot be overemphasized.

According to the President of NYAWIDDA, Commissioner Alobwede Mado Nzelle, the association has come a long way clocking five fruitful years with many achievements.

Among other actions the President said in their anniversary celebration last March in Tombel, the association  organized a food drive where basic commodities and foodstuffs were provided to all the 3 chiefdoms.

 Their team travelled to the village to give psychological and moral support to parents and siblings who were undergoing a lot of trauma due to the socio political tension that existing during that period

Among one of their great achievements has been ensuring that schools reopen in the entire village especially G.H.S NYASOSO that had completely shut its doors for a period of 3years just like it’s counterparts in the entire division.

To drive this efforts further  NYAWIDDA in September 2021 awarded full scholarships to the first 13 girls whose return to school inspired other students to enroll. NYAWIDDA has since then sponsored 30 female students with 07 excelling at the GCE ordinary level and 03 at the Advanced level, it was disclosed.

In other achievements, NYAWIDDA extended the village electrification by changing all obsolete street bulbs with standard lamps.  NYAWIDDA went ahead to procure durable solar lamps that are presently lighting the entire Nyasoso and Bendume village. They constantly provide amazone touchlights to the vigilante, who serve as auxiliary security.

 NYAWIDDA also recently purchased a multipurpose grinding machine from Nigeria that grinds all types of tubers and grains in the village. NYAWIDDA went ahead to purchase VIP canopies and the chairs to solve the problem of moving to Loum or Douala to hire the said items for important events in the village. These VIP chairs that are let out are now serving all neighboring villages that used to go to distant places to hire for their events, the President said.

The proceeds from the multipurpose grinding mill, VIP canopies and chairs go a long way to enable NYAWIDDA realise her dreams of making Nyasoso great again.

 The Association that started with 24 women in Douala in November 2019, now has an affective membership of about 250 women. Many more women and daughters of Nyasoso lagging behind were encouraged to come on board.According to one of the key elite who have been very supportive to the association, Herbert Ediage it was very important for all the women in Nyasoso to join in.
