Mayor Ekungwe Observes kids enjoying the new play ground.

The Bangem Council has been multiplying efforts to modernize Bangem town, headquarters of KupeMuanemguba. The construction of a befitting play ground for children has been saluted by the population who now have an enabling environment for outdoor games and leisure for their kids.
According to the mayor of Bangem, kids need an established Play environment and with Bangem expanding and increasing in population, there was need for a leisure environment like play ground for our children.
” Play is one of the most indispensable gifts we can give kids of any age, and you can’t overlook the importance of having an accessible playground in a fast expanding town like Bangem, mayor Ekungwe Christopher said.
The President of Kupe Muanenguba Chiefs Conference, HRM Chief Nnane Nnoko Emmanuel appreciated the logistics for kids which comes to several other projects to develop the town launched recently by the Council.
“ We are happy Bangem is getting some innovations in infrastructure and this is good for its development,” chief Nnane said.
Experts say, today’s children are overwhelmed with an abundance of activities and fewer opportunities to enjoy outside play. An increasing focus on academics and after-school activities, accompanied by the appeal of TV and video games, has led to disappearing playgrounds and playtime. This reduction in free play can negatively impact child development, thus the need for an enabling environment for kids to carry to do outdoor activities ( play).

But children aren’t the only ones who benefit from community playgrounds — whole families, including adults, can also enjoy the advantages of shared play equipment.
