The Secondary Education and Skills Development Project (PADESCE) and the PROFALCAM & Co. Training Centre have organized a  Capacity‑Building , Competence Training and certificate award event at the Bangem Council Hall, Kupe Mwaneguba Division, Southwest Region February 6, 2026.

The capacity building event is part of a series of trainings held across 21 sites in Cameroon’s 10 regions under PADESCE Training Program – Window 3.

In Bangem, some 30 members of the Inter‑Professional Platform of the Cassava Value Chain (IPP CV‑Chain) received certificates for completing the White Garri Processing modules.

Then Brainstorming training Session saw participants solve the “three sisters puzzle” – Patricia, Patience and Pascaline – each representing a special gift and resource for starting and running a business.

 Dr. Livinus Njume Esambe, representing  George Mbanda, the lead of PROFALCAM & Co. Vocational Training Center noted that participants had undergone a comprehensive three-weeks training program designed to impart simplified management, production, and processing techniques aimed at boosting their income-generating activities. Dr. Esambe expressed gratitude to PLANOPAC, PiP CV Manioc Cameroon, and MAC-COOP CA for their dedication to enhancing the capacities of farmers and entrepreneurs.

 Outlining the training’s objectives and PROFALCAM’s vision for rural development, particularly in the cassava value chain, Dr Esambe emphasized the the training was to empower and encourage farmers to continue working diligently. He acknowledged the presence of various ministries and urged farmers to collaborate with them to access government support.

The workshop participants (farmers) expressed gratitude to PADESCE and PROFALCAM & Co. for the training.

 Mr. Kang Louis, a trainee, and the supervisor co-animated an overview of the PADESCE training.

Mr. Kang Louis presented the 14 modules, focusing on key points and comparing pre-training practices.

 He detailed the white garri production process and discussed profitability, simplified accounting, and marketing aspects, explaining concepts like margin, direct margin, and depreciation.

The supervisor, Claude Assombe  for his part presented a cost analysis of white garri production, noting that the cost of cassava tubers stood at 177 FCFA/kg in Bangem.

The discussion emphasized the need for a cassava multiplication farm in the municipality to boost production and reduce costs.

  Another trainer, Joan Titi advised farmers to liaise with the Ministry of Commerce to market their products.

“The training project aims to strengthen human capital and employability while boosting enterprise productivity,” she said.

Prince Sume expressed appreciation for the PADESCE initiative, the World Bank, and PROFALCAM & Co’s resource persons. He thanked the Lord Mayor of Bangem for accommodations and encouraged colleagues to maintain the training spirit. Gladys Sume on her part expressed satisfaction for the success of the training program in Bangem.

Certificates and training manuals were awarded to trainees.

 The Divisional Delegate of MINADER , Timothy Zaki, appreciated the initiative, urging farmers to work together and perpetuate the knowledge gained. He praised Mr. Kang Louis’s presentation, highlighting the economic concepts he presented, and also thanked the president of PROFALCAM & Co.

PADESCE officials say the training mechanism is expected to support job creation, strengthen local value chains, raise incomes and promote self-employment. The current training cycle represents the first phase of a broader programme designed to scale workforce competitiveness and foster inclusive economic growth.
