
NEXSA 7 (Ministerial Batch)

The 7th batch of GSS/GHS Nyasosso Ex-students Association popularly known as the Ministerial Batch was over the weekend of 12 April 2025 met in Kumba (K-town) for their 2025 Annual General Assembly. This AGM was peculiar in a number of ways. It was the first after the historique 50th anniversary celebration of the school. It was also the first AGM organized by the new EXCO headed by Mr Nkwelle CLETUS as President. The two day celebration started on Friday with the arrival, registration and installation of delegates, followed by a sumptuous goat meat pepper soup for breakfast and a tour of the town by some members. Friday concluded with a barbeque evening offered by Great Simen Matthew President of the Organization community and President of the Kumba branch .
The D-day opened on Saturday morning with a sports walk covering a distance of about 2km. Deliberations for the 2025 AGM effectively started at 11am at the Chavic hotel with the presentation and adoption of the Agenda. This gave room for discussions on serious matters. Deliberations centered around the security of association’s funds, assistance to the alma mata, solidarity support to members in difficulties, the health barometer of the association etc. By the end of the day, the following conclusions were arrived at :
– following the good work of the EXCO, it was concluded that an annual stipend be allocated to them as appreciation
– since we are still in the Golden jubilee year, the association should continue using the golden jubilee fabric till the year is over
– to keep the Association’s accounts save, it was concluded that a bank account be opened . Members were assigned to research on modalities to do this.
– that the members should reflect on taking the association to higher heights by bringing in economic activities .
The surprise of the day was the unexpected arrival of Great Fotabe Louisa from the U.K just to . Great Fotabe did not just attend the AGM, she offered a very heavy lunch during the AGM.
The venue for 2026 has been slated for Buea.
For the records, 71 NEXSA 7th registered to attend the conference in Kumba and a resounding 48 members attended. The batch President Nkwelle Cletus Sume at the opening of the conclave welcome members and saluted their commitment and dedication to support their Alma mater.
