 71 year old retired  veteran Crtv Journalist, Madame Rose Mbole Epie has been inducted into the Cameroon Hall of Fame.

The celebrated former TV host Rose Mbole Epie was honored with a plaque, marking her induction into the Cameroon Hall of Fame at the Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) 2025. ceremony that took place in Buea from April 21st to 26th, 2025.

Renowned for her eloquence, impeccable English diction, wit, and charm, Rose Epie became a rare and iconic figure in Cameroonian television (CRTV).

After returning to Cameroon in 1978, she immersed herself in the media industry. At Cameroon Radio, she co-hosted popular programs such as “Luncheon Date” and “Music of the World”.

 

In 1987, she began hosting the iconic show “Tele Podium”. Later, when “Tam-Tam Weekend” was launched, she was entrusted with the challenging responsibility of hosting it, and eventually also hosted “The Monday Show”.

Despite her groundbreaking contributions, Rose Epie retired from CRTV with a sense of disappointment, having publicly expressed that she sacrificed much for the national broadcaster but received no formal recognition; not even a certificate of appreciation.

Today, thanks to CAMIFF, Rose Mbole Epie finally receives the honor and recognition she deserves.

The Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) celebrates African cinema, fostering global connections.

 Since its inception in 2016, the annual festival has become a vibrant hub for filmmakers and film lovers, offering a program filled with film screenings, awards ceremonies, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Prince, Agbor Gilbert Ebot, the founder of CAMIFF and Dr. Vivian Asheri Kilo, Secretary of State to the Minister of Basic Education all expressed their satisfaction with the orgainsation of the event this year with hope that it could in the future play a key role in advancing education and culture through film in Cameroon.
