President Paul Biya on August 3, 2026 signed a decree appointing new generals in the country. This decree includes the promotion of five colonels to the rank of General of Brigade and the appointment of several officers to key positions within the Ministry of Defense. The decree also redistributes command roles within the military, ensuring a strategic reorganization of the military leadership.
KupeMuanenguba was one of the divisions with a new General, Wilson Epie Ngome bringing the number two after General Ekungwesse Divine Nnoko.

MEET BRIG. GEN. WILSON EPIE NGOME
President Paul Biya has promoted Colonel Wilson Epie Ngome to the rank of Brigadier General in Decree N°2026/263 signed 03 August 2026.

He is the lone English-speaking Cameroonian among the 6 officers promoted  5 from the Army and 1 from the Gendarmerie.
WHO IS HE?
Brig. Gen. Wilson Epie Ngome was until his appointment, Commander of the Surface-to-Air Artillery Regiment (RASA).
RASA is a special unit of the Cameroon Army responsible for air defense. Their mission:
– Protect vital national infrastructure like bridges, hydroelectric dams, and industrial sites
– Provide air cover for troops
– Secure routes and installations during operations
A career officer, Gen. Epie Ngome has been at the forefront of Cameroon’s air defense strategy.
 His elevation accordingly,comes as part of statutory advancements in the Defence Forces and marks a significant moment for representation in the high command
