The government has approved the Limbe Council’s Smart-City project that is going to transform the town into a touristic Eldorado.

Limbe City Mayor Dr. Paul EFOME L. M. NGALE praised the move by Prime Minister Chief Dr. Joseph DION NGUTE to endorse the MONDOLI- Limbe Smart City Project.

The important decision was arrived at during an extraordinary session of Cameroon’s National Tourism Council which held in Yaounde on Tuesday 7th April 2026 under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.

According to Dr. Paul EFOME the coming of this major ecotourism and digital development project is a major blessing to the city of Limbe which shall add to the already existing touristic endowments and an increasingly vibrant economy, thereby transforming it into a major hub in Cameroon.

These are some of the many development oriented visions which Limbe City Mayor Dr. Paul EFOME has been focusing on to suit the new Urban Master Plan of the city. A vision which caught the attention of the Diaspora and Canada-based Dr. Sammy TITA FOMBANG gladly joined the vision of Limbe City Mayor to see the Smart City Mondoli-Limbe Project.

Prior to this good news from the National Tourism Council, Limbe City Mayor Dr. Paul EFOME L. M. NGALE had already had fruitful working session with Dr. Sammy TITA FOMBANG on this project.

In the spirit of “Building Together”, the Limbe City Mayor’s engagement toward the validation of this project falls in line with his huge zeal to work hand in gloves with all and sundry, especially those of the diaspora for the development of Limbe and wellbeing of the population.

This project is an integrated tourism and mixed-use development planned on approximately 125 hectares in the Limbe-Mondoli corridor.

The project is aligned with Cameroon’s National Development Strategy 2030 and Vision 2035.
