Yaounde CAMASEJ Celebrate WPDF Day :
Ahead of the World Press Freedom Day billed for this Friday,May 3, 2024 the Yaounde Chapter of the Cameroon Association of English-speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ) carried out a clean up campaign this Thursday, May 2 under the stewardship of its President,Ndi Eugene Ndi. The clean up campaign in some neighbourhoods of Yaounde VI kicked off with the collection of tonnes of trash from Rond Pont Express towards Accacia to the office of the Divisional Officer of Yaounde VI A panel discussion on the theme of this year followed suit on Friday 3 May at the Guardian Post conference hall. According to Yaoundé chapter President Eugene Ndi CAMASEJ Yaounde had a successful WPFD 2024 celebration with a panel featuring a speech by chapter President, a keynote presentation by Eugene N. Nforngwa, a former award-winning environment and development journalist, now a Climate Change, International Development and Energy Policy Expert. The discussion moderated by Amindeh Blaise, featured Elias Ngalame, Leocadia Bongben and Solomon Tembang as panelists.
The hallmark of the event was the symbolic planting of a tree as part of CAMASEJ Yaounde’s modest contribution to help safeguard the future of the planet.
