PM Hails KupeMuanenguba Chiefs, Population for ensuring return to Peace .

Prime Minister, Chief Dion Ngute has lauded the efforts of KupeMuanenguba chiefs and the entire population in ensuring return to peace in the division.

The PM was speaking during a visit of some 12 members of the KupeMuanenguba Chiefs conference to the Star Building August 27, 2024 in Yaounde.

“ We are glad that peace has returned in KupeMuanenguba thanks to the dedicated efforts of the traditional rulers and the population who have collaborated with the security forces to enable this happen. This is an example that other communities in the Southwest and Northwest have to emulate,” the Prime Minister said.

Talking to the press shortly after the meeting with the PM Chief Nnane of Bangem said the chiefs have come to first of all thank the government for the development support given to the division but also to table some of the challenges hindering progress in the area.

“ We took this opportunity to thank the government for their usual support. However it was a unique occasion to present the development setbacks in KupeMuanenguba, necessitating urgent government intervention,” Chief Nnane said.

Observers say economic activities long resumed in KupeMuanenguba and the population have been going about their duties hitch free for over two years now while other divisions in the Southwest and Northwest are still haunted by the ongoing crisis.

It should be recalled that a release from the Secretary General of Kupemuanenguba Chiefs conference  Chief Mbong Walters over the weekend noted that the Prime Minister Head of Government , Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute was to receive on Tuesday 27th August 2024  a delegation of Kupe Muanenguba Chiefs . The 14-man delegation was comprised of four representatives of the executive,four members of the Regional Council,three Presidents of the sub divisional Chiefs conference and three ex-officio members.

The Majesties took issues  that affect their people and land to the Star Building. The construction work on the Bangem/Nguti road Eco OUTLOOK gathered was certainly one of them.
