Schools effectively resumed throughout KupeMuanenguba yesterday September 9,2024 hitch-free amidst social media information of “ No school in NW,SW threats” imposed by separatists, Eco Outlook gathered.

From Bangem the headquarters, to Tombel, Nguti, virtually all the schools, public and private effectively resumed with relative calm and serenity.

Once again KupeMuanenguba stood out as a peaceful community following the serenity that characterized return to school for the 2024/25 SCHOOL year throughout the division.

The Senior Divisional Officer for KupeMuanenguba Ekema William Mungambo and his team as usual, were on the field to ensure a safe back to school.   To many observers it is no surprise that the ebullient and result oriented administrator quickly won acclaim no sooner he took the helm of administration of the division, ensuring that the interest of the population comes first. Effective presence and results delivery to improve the livelihood of the population is his stock in trade.

His field visit to different administrative offices and commercial premises reports say, was to ensure the effective presence of civil servants in their offices including school authorities.

Commercial premises that timidly obeyed ghost town were sealed as REPRESIVE measure.

The KupeMuanenguba community has always cooperated with administration to ensure peace. Any keen political observer would discern a clear and aggressive visibility of a converted people who have decided to break with the past, giving priority to community interest, especially in education.

However reports say the region still suffers from poor roads with many enclave villages. Consequently the most remote areas continue to face a critical shortage of qualified teachers in schools and rely on community teachers,  often lacking the necessary training and knowledge to provide the required standard of learning. This gap continues to contribute to extremely high teacher/pupil ratios.
