Chief of Manyemen Bisong Williams
The dust has finally settled in Manyemen as the KingMakers finally installed Bisong Williams as Chief of Manyemen. The new chief who triumph for the second time after consultative talks on the 14 of March where kinmakers unanimously presented him to the KupeMuanenguba administration as their designated chief.
Report say the consultative talks that was convened by the DO of Nguti started very late in the afternoon following disruptions by some hired tugs who vowed to bring disorder in protest of the officially designated chief. The disorder by the hired tugs led to the molesting of the designated chief throwing him on the floor and wounding of two of his supporters.
Video footage showed how the hired tugs threatened even the SDO for KupeMuanenguba, Mr Ekema Williams Mungambo in the presence of security officers.
“ The threatened me, insulted us and even tore my cap. Everyone present saw what happened,” the SDO said .
In spite the disruptions, the KingMakers unanimously designated Bisong Williams as their chief against Hope Sona Ebai and Presented him officially to the KupeMuanenguba administration.
It was all euphoria and jubilation as a mammoth crowd paraded the streets of Manyemen chanting songs of victory and justice that finally saw the rightful chief selected.
On the 15th of March the entire population coordinated by the traditional council, elders, king makers, sesseko of various villages came out to witness the traditional coronation of the new chief by the Ekpe society, as Sesseko chief Bisong Williams.
It should be recalled that the new chief was initially chosen by King Makers and presented to the administration in 2023 before he was subsequently challenged by another group who presented Hope Sona Ebai as chief.
The heads of the five families that make up Manyemen village, Upper Balong in Nguti Subdivision upheld the designation of Bisong Williams as their new chief and thus presented him to the administration for the second time.
The final coronation of chief Bisong William as chief of Manyemen now settles the dust bringing peace in the sub-division in particular and KupeMuanenguba as a whole.
