Prof Sone Andrew Ewang Bags Prestigious CENPA 2024 AWARDS for Excellence in Public Service

Prof Sone Andrew Ewang, director of legal affairs in the Ministry of  State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure has been recognized as winner of the 2024 Cameroon English Language Newspaper Association, CENPA award in the “Best Public Service delivery” category.

 The highly attended award ceremony took place at the Mountain Hotel in Buea July 5th, 2025.

In handing over the award, human rights activist and CENPA AWARD Jury member Tambe Tiku Christopher said the winner Dr Sone Ewang Andrew, has demonstrated selfless services in different positions in the country including, senior lecturer in law University of Yaounde 11 Soa, senior legal expert ELECAM and currently director of legal affairs MINDCAF.

As senior lecturer in law Dr Sone Ewang has trained many law experts in the country and enriching the legal academia with many publications.

In one of his book “Readings in the Cameroon Criminal Procedure Code” Dr Sone Ewang Andrew, notes that the Cameroon’s new Criminal Procedure Code is a donkey’s guide that explains, abundantly, clearly, precisely and extols the merits of the law: fraternize human relations within and beyond national confines. Hence, the code will for a long time be an inexhaustible spring for the intellect.

 

The President of CENPA Mr Ngah Christian acclaimed the laureate calling on other Cameroon’s senior civil servants to emulate his example.

The CENPA AWARDS he noted is fast becoming a power house in the media profession in Cameroon, he boasted.

  “Now in its second year, we see the event growing into one of the most respected and prestigious fixtures in Cameroon’s Media calendar – a true celebration of the people and practices that make CENPA such a powerhouse in the MEDIA profession,” Ngah said.

Tambe Tiku Christopher, a renowned human rights defender and member of the electoral board of ELECAM (Elections Cameroon), who was one of the jury members on the awards said: “It’s been a real privilege to support the CENPA Awards which by my assessment is based on merit.”
