The grand finals of the El CLASSICO Female Tournament, organized by CETA Cameroon under the esteemed patronage of Mme Ngwane Doris ended on August 18,2025 with Ebamut Ladies emerging champions.
The tournament, which kicked off on July 14, 2025, featured ten formidable teams: Asmuguy Ladies, Super Stars of Ekonebe, Ebamut Ladies, Dynayo, Kupe Ladies, Koumin Ladies, Petro Sports, Independent Square Ladies, Ngab, and Mile 19 Ladies.
After a series of intense matches, eight teams advanced to the quarter-finals, where the competition intensified. The semi-finals saw Koumin Ladies, Ebamut Ladies, Dynayo, and Asmuguy Ladies emerge victorious, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown between Asmuguy Ladies and Ebamut Ladies.
The atmosphere was exciting as the two finalists took to the pitch, each team determined to emerge victorious.
The match began with high stakes, and it was the Ebamut Ladies who struck first. In the 23rd minute, Charlene Abada, wearing number 6 jersey, executed a swift and skillful maneuver, sending the ball into the net and igniting a wave of jubilation among the Ebamut supporters. As the first half concluded, the scoreboard read 1-0 in favor of Ebamut Ladies.
The second half promised more dramatic, but the tide turned when Asmuguy’s central defender, Nicole, suffered an unfortunate injury just 18 minutes into the segment. The setback dampened the spirits of the Asmuguy team, who had been eager to equalize.
As the match progressed, tensions escalated when Ebamut was awarded a penalty. The decision sent shockwaves through the stadium, particularly among the Asmuguy fans, who stood up in protest, invading the pitch and halting play. The atmosphere was filled with emotion as Asmuguy players stood their grounds, refusing to continue until the situation was resolved.
Despite the protest, the referee’s final whistle marked a historic moment for the Ebamut Ladies, who celebrated their hard-fought victory and lifted the coveted trophy.

At the end of the tournament, the awards ceremony commenced, with the highlight being the prestigious Scoops Super Scale Development Award presented to Dr. Ngwane David, CEO of CETA Cameroon. This recognition underscored the tournament’s success and the commitment to fostering women’s sports in the municipality.
The Inaugural El CLASSICO Female Tournament was not just a sporting event; it was a celebration of talent, passion, and the spirit of competition.
