Academy of Health Sciences Yaounde celebrate 2026 graduation ceremony in Flying colors

It was a very busy celebration day April 30th 2026 at the Academy of Health Sciences,Yaounde, known by its French acronym ASSA with the graduation of over 100 professional nurses of various academic levels.

The graduates of first degree (Bsc.), higher diploma, and nursing aid levels all finished their training with excellent results as announced by the executive director of the school Professor Betty Best Messame Mwene, with the majors in the different categories scoring between 16-17/20 averages

The school scored 100% at all levels in the national certification exams.

Created in 2010, the highly bilingual professional nurses institution has maintained its brilliant academic performance record for the past 16 years, the executive director said.

In her address to the graduates, she reminded them of their professional mission as they go into the employment world.

” Your mission is to administer treatment to the sick in hospitals, preventing and helping them recover from their illnesses. Your mission is also not to cause any harm, not to discriminate but treat everyone the same” she reminded the graduates.

” You are therefore going out as champions to treat patients in hospitals and this begins with good and friendly reception, collaboration with other professionals in the hospital and especially respect to your hierarchy,” she advised.

Professor Betty Best Mesame lauded the lecturers in the school for their relentless efforts to empower the young nurses with right skills that can stand the challenges of the profession wherever they find themselves.

She also thanked the parents for having confidence in ASSA.

For the students, it was a privilege studying in the school.

The student representative Kengo Yanick lauded the director général for ensuring that students study under excellent conditions with strict moral values, discipline and general well being.

“ A nurse is not only to treat patients but also to bring hope. This should be seen in your character, respect for human life and your environment in your work place,” Yanick advised his colleagues.

For the parents, the discipline in the school was remarkable.

“l appreciate the non use of téléphones in the school as a disciplinary measure. This shows the need for seriousness in study by the school authorities,” one of the parents testified.

The parents lauded the executive director for flying the flag of Cameroon high in professional nurses training at all levels.

With Cameroon’s official higher education policy of LMD, ASSA looks forward to training at Masters and PHD levels in the near future it was announced.

The teachers in show of gratitude and appreciation offered the executive director a symbolic gift.

Traditional dances and music animated the ceremony.                              The ceremony ended with feasting.
