Administrative and traditional authorities after first planning meeting in Bangem
A crucial first preparatory meeting for the organisation of the 2nd Edition of the Bakossi Festival of Arts and Culture (BAFAC), scheduled to take place in Bangem in early 2027, held on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at the Bangem Council hall, bringing together Chiefs, administrative authorities and other key stakeholders.
The meeting marked a turning point showing the road to BAFAC 2027 has officially begun. And with the collective commitment of our traditional rulers, administrators, cultural actors, communities and partners, the second edition promises to be bigger, stronger and more impactful.
BAFAC is not merely about celebrating our music, dances, traditional values, food and heritage. It is about bringing the Bakossi people together, preserving our identity, empowering our communities and projecting Bakossi culture to Cameroon and the world.

The Bakossi community is getting ready for another unforgettable celebration of their culture, heritage, traditions, and unity.
Last year, the Bakossi Festival in Tombel was a great success, bringing people from KUPE MUANENGUBA and the MOUNGO DIVISION together,and creating a beautiful platform to showcase the richness and diversity of Bakossi culture.
From traditions and customs to music, dance, food, fashion, and community spirit, it was truly a celebration to remember.
The 2nd edition promises to be even bigger and more massive.
“This is more than just a festival. It is an opportunity for us to come together as a people, celebrate who we are, preserve our heritage, and pass our culture on to the next generation.
We call on all Bakossi sons and daughters, families, traditional leaders, cultural groups, youths, friends, and well-wishers to come together and support this great initiative,” the organisers say.
BAFAC — ONE YEAR ON
It’s now a year when, Tombel came alive as the meeting point of Bakossi culture, identity, memory and heritage during the 1st Edition of the Bakossi Festival of Arts and Culture (BAFAC)
From music and dance to traditional regalia, cuisine, stories and pageantry, BAFAC was more than a festival—it was a cultural awakening and a powerful reminder that our heritage must be celebrated, preserved and passed on to future generations.
The Bakossi community gives their heartfelt gratitude to all partners, sponsors, supporters and Bakossi elites whose generosity, encouragement and commitment helped make the first edition a remarkable success.
Special appreciation to Metuge Evelyn Epolle (Kobe) for turning a bold vision into a cultural movement, and to His Excellency Elung Paul Che and the BAFAC Steering Committee for their invaluable support, leadership and commitment.
One year later, the memories remain, the heritage endures, and the vision continues.
