The Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association (CENPA) has honoured CPDM Parliamentarian for Nguti, Hon. Fonge Julius Fongouck, as “ The Most Impactfull SW Paliamentarian,” braving security challenges and ensuring effective presence in his constituency, driving multiple community projects and donating tons of didactic school needs to ensure effective schooling in Kupe-Muanenguba.
Hon. Fonge Julius according to CENPA, has been very regular in his Nguti constituency, defying security challenges to carry our multiple community projects that created hundreds of jobs for youths in the area, empower women and especially help to ensure smooth return to school with material support to schools and scholarship to vulnerable children.
“ He is one of the few parliamentarians in the Southwest whose community is proud of,” CENPA President Ngah Christian announced during the awards.
The CENPA Awards Night was held at the GeCAM André Siaka Hall in Bonanjo in the presence of sevrral government officials.
The Chair of the award ceremony legal luminary and peace advocate, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle,hailed the integrity of the award process and CENPA’s choice of recipients.
“This is one of those awards Cameroonians can count on because the process of selection was very genuin,” Nico Halle attested during the ceremony.
He said CENPA was made up of people committed to integrity and that the selection process had been thorough.
“CENPA is made up of people of integrity and they’re not here to flatter anybody. The selection was thorough and proper,” the chairman of the CENPA Awards 2026 said.
He also highlighted the association’s charitable activities, describing CENPA as more than a professional organisation.
CENPA President Kristian Ngah Christian, Publisher of The Guardian Post daily newspaper, also corroborated noting that the association had also been working to strengthen the capacity of journalists and sustain the print media.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Hon. Fonge’s community development action is drawing media attention and getting honours.
Few months back he was honoured by The Guardian Post during an award ceremony 2026 in Ebolowa.
Recognising these multiple awards, Hon Fonge Julius says its thanks to the collaboration and support from his constituency.
“ Happy to know that our actions on the ground is being recognised. I want to really thank the donors but also especially thank the population for all their support and collaboration. Together we can do more for the wellbeing of our people,” Hon Fonge noted.
