Muebah in Nninong clan, Ekanjoh Bajoh in Mwogmut clan and Ahii de Nkang in Mwambong clan have been designated as sub-centers for the celebration of the 60th National Youth Day in Bangem sub-division.

A release of 6th February, 2026 from the divisional officer for Bangem sub-division Dairu Saly, noted that these centers have been authorized to host the 2026 youth day celebrations in their different communities.

This decentralized hosting permits youths not to travel long distances for such celebrations the DO explains.

It should be noted that week-long activities leading up to the celebration of the 60th edition of the National Youth day in Cameroon on February 11 were officially launched on Monday, February 2, 2026 in the town of Gari-Gombo in the Boumba-et-Ngoko Division (East Region).

The launching ceremony for the was presided over by the Minister of Youth and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou.

The ceremony marked the start of a nationwide series of activities dedicated to Cameroonian youth.

In Bangem like other communities the program featuring cultural animations, sports competitions, concerts, and civic initiatives is expected to hold with the aim of putting young people in the spotlight, leading up to the event proper on February 11.

This year’s 60th edition is holding under the theme “Youth at the Heart of Great Expectations, for a United, Stable, and Prosperous Cameroon.”

Empowering the Next Generation

​A key highlight of the event will be the head of state Paul Biya’s address to the youth on 10th with expected plan of action on how to empower the youths in Cameroon.

Already the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education distributed some equipment to youths in some selected communities. Beneficiaries of the 2026 Special “Three-Year Youth Plan” received professional installation kits, agricultural equipment and vocational tools, the officials said.

These resources according to the Minister are part of a broader national strategy intended to boost the socio-economic integration among the youth, a priority championed by President Paul Biya.
