All Roads leads to BOSTON next week for the Bakossi Cultural And Development Association,BACDA-USA grand convention July 16-20, 2026.
It will be a ‘Come one Come All’ cultural come together that demonstrates remarkable commitment to community service, the organisers say.
According to Nyake Epie,”We are proudly Bakossi! Our Heritage! Our Pride” she wrote on her facebook page in reference to the cultural come together.
For the past years, BACDA USA has stayed committed to one purpose, improving lives across our Bakossi communities while preserving who they are.
Across 11 villages, families now have access to clean drinking water. What used to be a daily struggle has become a basic part of life.
In 10 schools, children are learning to read and write Akosè because teachers are being supported throughout the academic year. This is how a language lives on.
We have also begun replacing old and unsafe electric poles across Ekośe. It is a quiet change, but one that brings safety and more reliable power to our people.
Seventeen health centers have received beds and essential medical equipment. For many, this means the difference between neglect and care.
Through four health campaigns, we have reached communities that often go without medical attention. And this effort is only growing.
SUCCESSFUL 2026 Health Campaign in KupeMuanenguba
According to the Health committee Chair for BACDA-USA, Gracian Mbome Sone, the organization of this important health campaign that took place on the 8th and 9th of April at the Bangem district hospital was very succesful.
“This initiative reflects our shared commitment to improving community health, raising awareness, and ensuring access to essential medical services for all. Campaigns like this play a vital role in early detection, prevention, and education, ultimately helping to build a healthier and stronger community,” she says.
LEARNING AKOSE
Learning the a Akose language especially for children in the USA far from home has been one of the successful mission of BACDA-USA.
“Even far from home, our children in the United States are being encouraged to learn Akosè and understand Ekośe history, so they remain connected to their roots,” writes Nyake Epie.
This is the work we have done together.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Our next step is clear. We are raising funds to establish Pharmacy Depots in Bangem and Tombel. These depots will support our health campaigns and make safe, reliable medication more accessible to our communities.
According to the Chair of National Cultural Committee of BACDA- USA, Nhon. Mbonteh-Nzegge, the pride of the Bakossi culture is also its traditional outfit.
“In the heart of Bakossi culture, fashion is never just a “design coincidence.” Every thread, color, and accessory is a deliberate statement of heritage and spiritual power,” he says.
What to Expect during the Convention:
Cultural Showcase: Traditional dances, music, and the beauty of the Akose language. Networking: Connect with fellow Bakossi professionals from across the diaspora.
Impactful Discussions: Updates on our latest development projects and humanitarian initiatives back home in Cameroon etc.
